I’m not a movie critic. I don’t sit in the theatre with a little flashlight and pen taking notes to distill into a scathing review. I’m a videophile. I love movies. I have seen many movies, and I love talking about them, and I love recommending the ones I like to my friends. And even more, I love it when my friends end up liking a movie I recommend. But there is a trick to suggesting a movie and giving out just enough information to entice you to see it without giving away some great plot point or conceit that will delight you even more at the time of viewing.

Why did I say all that? Because it is going to be really hard to give you enough information to get you to watch One Cut of the Dead without giving too much away. Here is what I can tell you: First, it is a comedy. Second, it is a Zombie Flick. Third, it takes a weird turn about 30 minutes in and starts to go somewhere that does not at first seem funny. Here is my advice: Watch this movie all the way through, and the setup will definitely be worth the laughs.

I’m sorry I have not really told you much, but please don’t read anything else about this movie. Go into it knowing as little as possible and then sit back and have a good time. And if you don’t like zombie movies, that’s ok since it is a very PG movie with very little blood and guts. Seriously though, this is one of my favorite movies that I watched during the pandemic. Currently, One Cut of the Dead is Streaming for $4 on Amazon Prime.
