The Little Death (2014)

The Little Death (streaming on Netflix)

Taken from the french “La Petite Mort” which describes “the brief loss or weakening of consciousness” or for my American movie going audience “I’ll have what she’s having”.

I’m glad I don’t have to try and pronounce the “La Petite Mort” because I sound stupid when I speak french correctly, and a complete idiot when I get it wrong, which is most of the time. And speaking of stupid, there is nothing that makes people act foolish as love and sex. Which is what this messy little movie is all about.

The Little Death is a sex comedy about multiple couples trying to find love, happiness and sexual fulfillment.  For some people sex, intimacy, and the things which turn them on exist in the middle of the bell curve, but for others, like the ones in this movie, their turns-on exist a little outside the median. But how do you satisfy your partner, while at the same time getting them to participate in your not not so common erotic desires? The answers to these questions are sometimes sad, but mostly comical.

This is mostly enjoyable and has some really funny moments. [rating=3]
